Service Officer
Position Description
Volunteer Position -
Needed during all camp weeks
Position includes
camper scholarship for one child plus room and board
for you and any immediate family (space permitting)
General
Responsibilities:
- Collect medical history and
medications during registration on Sunday
- Understand and adhere to policies from the Colorado State Regulations
- Protect the health and safety of campers and staff
- Be on call 24 hours/day
- Supply camp with prompt and appropriate medical care
- Complete and file all accident forms
- Maintain a complete and accurate medical log
- Make arrangements with the Program Director
or Executive Director before sending anyone to the
doctor or hospital
- Notify parents before sending any minor to the doctor or hospital
- Assist in the handling of medical emergencies
- Administer first-aid as needed
- Distribute all daily medications to campers and staff when needed
- Return all camper medications to parents at the completion of each week
Qualifications:
- Must be one of the following: a
licensed physician, a registered nurse, a licensed practical nurse.
- Must hold a current certificate indicating completion of the department
approved and required medication administration course
- At least 18 years old
