Will I receive a salary?: All summer staff receive a salary including room and board.

Can I bring a vehicle?: You are welcome to bring a vehicle to camp - there are plenty of parking spaces available. If you’d like to car-pool to and from camp, please contact us and we can try to arrange a ride for you.

What if I fly?: We can provide transportation to and from the Denver Airport if you chose to fly in. Please contact us with your flight information, so we can be sure to pick you up on time.

Will I get any time off?: Staff will receive one 24 hour period off per week and some time off daily relative to your position.

Will I have telephone and email access?: There is a phone available for your use on your time off in the basement of the Dining Hall. This number can be given to your friends and family if they need to get a message to you. The staff lounge has two computers with internet access as well as wireless internet access if you wish to bring an laptop.

Are laundry facilities available?: There are washers and dryers on camp that are available for your use at no cost. Facilities are reserved for Program staff on weekends. Service, Leadership, and Administrative staff are able to use the laundry facilities after 4:30 daily and when off duty.

Will I be living in the same cabin/room for the whole summer?: Counselors will possibly move from room to room or lodge to lodge each week. Service, Leadership, and Administrative staff will live in the same cabin throughout their stay.

Will there be storage for my extra belongings?: Do to lack of facilities we cannot guarantee storage space. If you drive to camp you can use your vehicle for your personal storage.

What can I wear?: Our goal in having a dress code is to minimize distractions and stay focused on our purpose, which is to bring children to Christ. We do believe that one's external appearance is not more important than one's internal character. However, we do feel it is important to be presentable in appearance. Therefore our general requirements concerning appearance are as follows. Hair should be kept neat and clean. Beards and mustaches are to be kept neatly trimmed; staff should not plan on starting a beard or mustache after arriving at camp. Shorts must be at least 4 inches long from inseam. Underclothing should be covered at all times. Swimsuits must be a one-piece. Female’s shirts and tank-tops should not be close-fitting. Males must wear a shirt at all times. Pierced ears are admissible; any other body piercing are unacceptable. All other areas not mentioned should follow along with general standards of modesty and appropriateness.

How many and what ages of campers come to Covenant Heights?: Camp will have anywhere from 80-125 campers each week, the average being 75-100 kids. The camp weeks are divided by grades, the youngest campers we have will be entering 2nd & 3rd grade. Our Trailblazers are entering grades 4, 5, and 6, the Sudden Impact campers are entering grades 7, 8, and 9, and Extreme camp is for grades 10, 11, and 12.

What activities are available to the kids?: Skills classes that can be taught but are not limited to archery, boating, arts and crafts, ultimate games, team sports, challenge course, and wilderness survival. Afternoon activities that are offered are high ropes course, zip line, swimming, climbing wall, mountain biking, arts and crafts, boating, and hiking. Horse back riding is also offered, which is a contracted activity from a nearby stable. Some activities won’t be available every week depending on the campers ages.

Where is Covenant Heights located?: We are located on the border of Rocky Mountain National Park, just 9 miles south of Estes Park, Colorado on Highway 7.

What activities are available to staff on time off?: Estes Park has many activities to choose from, including hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding, touring Rocky Mountain National Park, shopping, coffee shops, and more. Or you can take a trip down to the valley and enjoy all the activities that a larger city has to offer!
