The Reverend Promise Y. Lee, founder of Relevant Word Ministries, heard God's call to the ministry at an early age.  That call would not be accepted until a decade had passed.  As a young boy of sixteen, Promise Lee was sentenced to twelve years in the Colorado State Penitentiary for second degree murder.  But a young man whom God has anointed can only run and hide for so long.  In 1983, at the age of twenty-six, he gave up the life that had separated him from God and surrendered to the master's will.
Reverend Lee is a living testimony of what Almighty God can do - transforming a thief, gambler, drug addict, hustler and murderer into a minister of God.  Reverend Lee is now Senior pastor of Relevant Word Ministries, a multi-ethnic and inclusive approach in winning the lost to Christ.  Reverend Lee is a profoundly gifted speaker, teacher, and preacher.  His style of delivery encompasses truth, real-life experiences, practicality, relevancy and most importantly God's anointing.  In his years as a minister and community activist, Reverend Lee has had numerous achievements including:   Co-authoring of three publications Highly sought after on local and national speaking circuits Winner of the oldest and most prestigious community problem solving award - The National Civic League's All American City Award. Featured in Young Emerging Leaders Humanitarian of the Year Recognized at the White House by Vice President Al Gore for his work in strengthening communities
The fire within that has driven Reverend Lee to triumph thus far was kindled by God.  That fire still burns to accomplish even greater things.  The world outside is a storm of hatred, violence, racism, and greeed - opposing peace and harmony.  But inside each of us, Almighty God can work a transformation that will bring the world together in love.  Voices all around say it can't be done.
